Removal team pushing crates up a ramp into a removal van

Dundee Removals & Storage successfully tendered for two large secondary school moves in the summer of 2025. The first was for Greenfield Academy, a new £100m campus at the east end of Dundee. This replaced two ageing schools, Craigie High School and Braeview Academy. The second move involved Perth High School in Oakbank Road Perth relocating to another £50m campus on the same site.

The tendering process involved a rigorous assessment of all aspects required for the move, including the provision of appropriate packing materials like boxes and crates to safely and securely transport all school resources to their new location. Specialist moving was also required for areas such as science departments (including chemicals) and technical departments like woodwork and metalwork, as well as all academic subject areas. Full project management and a labelling system were also essential to prevent any loss or misdelivery during the move. Collaboration with the client was crucial to meet deadlines and ensure everything was in place for staff and pupils returning to the new school. Finally, the old establishments needed to be emptied by transporting surplus furniture and equipment to other establishments for reuse or recycling, minimising the carbon footprint.

Throughout the moving process, vulnerable areas of the facilities were protected with floor and wall coverings to prevent damage. Professional moving equipment like sack trucks and dolly trucks was used to move items safely and efficiently around the campus.

At their peak, the projects involved coordinating up to 25 staff to ensure efficient and safe operations, ultimately achieving a positive outcome for the clients.
